Who is behind HOSTtest?

HOSTtest was founded in 2006 during university studies – out of the frustration of not being able to find a reliable host. Today it has become one of Europe's largest comparison platforms, available in five countries. Who is behind it and how we work is on our About us page.

How do I find the right hosting?

Start with what your project really needs – not with the cheapest offer. Choose the right category, then filter by storage, technology and support. Pay particular attention to the contract term and the price after the first year: that is where most surprises hide. Reviews from other users, our guides and our hosting advisor help you choose.

HOSTtest Plus is a free service that lets you monitor the availability and performance of up to 50 websites or servers. In case of outages or unusually long loading times, you are notified by email, SMS or phone call. HOSTtest Plus also offers SSL and DNS checks, public status pages, performance reports, hosting tenders and a savings alert for your hosting contracts, among other things.

How does HOSTtest test?

HOSTtest tests hosting plans unannounced, anonymously and at its own expense. We order the plans at the regular price and use them, including support, like normal customers. Providers are not told about the test in advance and can neither optimise their servers or support specifically for us nor buy a test or a better result.
