Renewable energy and waste heat:

In the Green Web Check by the Green Web Foundation, Domaintechnik's network (AS25575) is listed as hosting with documented use of renewable energy. The Green Web Check is not a certificate but a data-based classification that anyone can look up for a domain.

Domaintechnik runs its servers in the Digital Realty data centre in Vienna Floridsdorf. Since autumn 2023, Wien Energie has used large heat pumps to channel the data centre's waste heat into the neighbouring Klinik Floridsdorf, a hospital with around 800 beds. According to the City of Vienna, this covers 50 to 70 % of the hospital's heating demand, while the data centre needs less energy for cooling.
