Domain pulse 2025The Domain pulse 2025 is just around the corner and promises to be once again one of the highlights of the year for the domain and web hosting industry. As one of the most significant conferences in the German-speaking region, it will bring together experts, decision-makers, and innovators from 11.02.25 to 12.02.25 in Dresden to discuss the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in the digital space. This year, Hosttest will also be present to provide exciting insights, interviews, and trends directly from the event.

What is the Domain pulse?

The Domain pulse is organized annually by the three German-speaking domain registration authorities DENIC (Germany), SWITCH (Switzerland), and nic.at (Austria) and has established itself as a central platform for exchanging ideas on domains, internet governance, and digital transformation. The conference is aimed at a broad audience from the domain industry, politics, academia, and business, shedding light on technical, legal, and societal aspects of the internet.

The highlights of this year's conference

In 2025, the Domain pulse is themed "Secure, stable, responsible – shaping the digital future together". The event promises an inspiring programme offering insights into current challenges, exciting visions, and practical approaches for the digital future.

In the Keynote "How to blow an entire IT security budget without attackers noticing", Linus Neumann will demonstrate why IT security often misses real threats. Instead of taking effective measures, budgets are spent on theoretical concepts of questionable value. His talk will explore how threat models can be aligned with reality and security resources can be used efficiently.

Other exciting topics include:

  • "The Digital Consumer of the Future": How will the behaviour of digital consumers evolve? An exciting glimpse into the future.
  • "Of Troll Factories and Warriors of Faith": Who is spreading disinformation and why, and what measures could we take against it? A profound analysis of digital manipulation.
  • "New Challenges for the IT of the Future": How is the IT industry preparing for upcoming changes and challenges?
  • "Artificial Intelligence in the Digital World": What ethical implications does AI have on our society, and where are the boundaries?
  • "Internet Governance and WSIS 20": What does the next stage of the global internet look like? Who controls it, and what direction is it heading in?
  • "NIS-2 and the New Era of Security": What impact does the NIS-2 directive have on cybersecurity?
