Ranking and Sorting Details of Comparisons

In our comparisons, you will find offers created and managed by providers registered with us. To be featured on Hosttest, a provider must actively register themselves. Each offer in our comparisons must be marked as current by the provider within 120 days to continue appearing in the comparisons. We do this to ensure the highest possible offer accuracy for you as a visitor.

Important: Although we are one of the largest hosting comparison portals in the DACH region, only a selection of providers and offers are listed here!

When you view a comparison, you will be shown the best possible selection of suitable offers based on preset filter and search criteria.

To enhance the results, various additional filter options are available to narrow down the search results (on the left side of the offers).

The search results can also be sorted by various criteria (directly above the offers on the right).

Good to know: In many comparisons, the filter "Only one offer per provider" is set by default. This makes it easier for you to preselect and provides a better overview, as many providers have multiple similar offers. When this filter option is set, only the cheapest offer from a provider that matches the current search criteria will be displayed. You can remove the filter at any time.

Ranking Sorting Options

Sorting of search results is possible based on the following criteria:

Status, average price:

By default, the ranking is sorted by "Status, average price". The offers are sorted here based on the provider's membership status on Hosttest (from highest to lowest) and the average price per month (from lowest to highest). Regarding the price, not only the monthly costs are considered, but also any setup fees and discounts that may apply. In terms of status, Diamond and Premium providers, who have higher minimum requirements and pay higher membership fees to Hosttest, are listed above verified and registered providers. Reviews:

The offers are sorted based on customer reviews submitted on Hosttest (from highest to lowest). Learn more about how we verify the authenticity of reviews here.

Test Verdict:

The offers are sorted according to the test verdict determined by the Hosttest editorial team (from highest to lowest). First, all offers with a test verdict are displayed. Additional offers are then sorted by average price per month (from lowest to highest). Learn more about our testing process here.

Status:

The offers are sorted by the provider's membership status on Hosttest (from highest to lowest). In terms of status, Diamond and Premium providers, who are subject to higher minimum requirements and pay higher membership fees to Hosttest, are listed before verified and registered providers. Ascending price:

The offers are sorted by the average price per month (from lowest to highest). This includes not only monthly costs but also any setup fees that may apply.

Descending price:

The offers are sorted by the average price per month (from highest to lowest). This includes not only monthly costs but also any setup fees that may apply.

Relevance:

The offers are sorted by their relevance (from newest to oldest). An offer is considered "relevant" if it has been newly created or edited by the provider in the backend and marked as "current."

Storage space:

(If available) The offers are sorted by the provided storage space (from highest to lowest). Sponsored listings Above the search results, various offers are displayed as "Editor's recommendation" depending on the category and search criteria, clearly marked as "Ad". These are sponsored listings.
