CloudFest 2024 at Europa-Park Rust, marking the 20th anniversary of the event series, once again confirmed the vitality and innovative strength of the cloud industry. In an era of accelerated digitalisation, where cloud computing is becoming increasingly important, the event served as the perfect stage for experts, companies and start-ups. Here they were able to present their latest innovations, network and jointly develop forward-looking solutions. In our summary we take a look at the highlights and the most exciting moments of CloudFest 2024.

Once again this year, the CloudFest 2024 proved to be an impressive major event that attracted professionals and enthusiasts from the cloud sector worldwide. With more than 8,700 participants from over 77 countries, the festival offered an excellent platform for international exchange and collaboration. Attendees benefited from a wide range of talks and presentations, delivered by over 250 speakers who shared their knowledge and experience. More than 180 partner companies also contributed to the festival’s success by showcasing their latest products and solutions and inviting discussion. The event at Europa-Park Rust provided ideal conditions for networking, knowledge sharing and forming partnerships to help meet the challenges of the cloud industry and develop innovative solutions for an increasingly connected and data-driven era.

Alongside the main programme of CloudFest 2024 there were several exciting side events that not only provoked plenty of laughs but also proved that cloud enthusiasts can do more than just tap on keyboards. The traditional CloudFest Hackathon, where bright minds came together to tinker with their latest developments, excited attendees in advance. A brand-new discipline, Server Throwing, drew particular attention — here competitors tested who could throw a blade server the farthest, a sport ideal for anyone whose server has crashed again. Not to forget the 20 brave souls who had to pitch their start-up ideas during a rapid ride on the rollercoaster — who can claim to have presented their business idea between loops and corkscrews? And as if that weren’t enough, four nights of live music ensured that all participants could properly unwind after a long day full of technology and throwing contests.

Of course, this year several prominent German companies were on site, proudly representing the local tech scene. HostPress, Hetzner, Anexia and Netcup were among the participants and brought their expertise and latest innovations to the table. These companies not only contributed to professional exchanges but also demonstrated how diverse and dynamic the German cloud industry is.

Overall, CloudFest 2024 at Europa-Park Rust was a resounding success on its 20th anniversary, and attendees can look forward to future editions of the industry gathering!
