Under the motto “The Sustainability of Everything”, CloudFest 2026 addresses the question of how technological innovation and sustainable growth can be combined. In various topic tracks, the theme is examined from different perspectives: from Cybersecurity & Compliance, which deals with trust, regulation, and resilience in the AI era, through AI-Powered Cloud Solutions, exploring the practical application and energy efficiency of artificial intelligence in cloud environments, to Corporate IT Evolved, which focuses on the further development of modern DevOps cultures and organisational structures. Other key areas include Data Sovereignty, the sovereign handling of data in a world of increasing digital boundaries, as well as Finding the Future, where strategic foresight, sustainable scaling, and new business models are central. Big Ideas for Smarter Internet Infrastructure looks beyond everyday technology and concentrates on strategic thinking: How can systems be developed that endure long-term, scale responsibly, and create real value for people and organisations — where sustainability and performance come together. Together, these themes provide a comprehensive view of how tomorrow’s internet infrastructure can be designed responsibly, securely, and sustainably.
Highlights of the CloudFest 2026 Agenda
- Radia Perlman – “Mother of the Internet”
Radia Perlman is one of the most influential computer scientists in internet history and is recognised as the inventor of the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), without which modern networks would not be as stable or scalable. She discusses the fundamentals of today’s internet, particularly resilience, comprehensibility, and the long-term stability of digital infrastructures. The focus is on how to design an increasingly complex internet that remains robust, secure, and understandable for people in the future.
- Brewster Kahle
Brewster Kahle is the founder of the Internet Archive, one of the world’s most important digital memory institutions, known for the Wayback Machine. He addresses the internet as a collective memory of humanity and the responsibility to preserve digital content permanently. Topics include long-term archiving, open access to knowledge, and the role of infrastructure providers in maintaining digital culture.
- Brittany Kaiser
Brittany Kaiser gained international recognition through her role as a whistleblower in the Cambridge Analytica scandal and is now one of the most prominent voices on data ethics, power concentration, and platform responsibility. She explores the tension between rapid growth, economic interests, and ethical responsibility in the cloud economy. Her focus is on data sovereignty, power structures of digital platforms, and how sustainable growth can be achieved without loss of trust.
The rest of the programme offers a dense, practical line-up of short keynotes, panels, and breakouts on AI, data sovereignty, sustainability, corporate IT, and the internet of tomorrow. The content is spread across two main stages – the Studio Stage for focused deep dives and the Arena Stage for major keynotes and highlights.
Even in 2026, CloudFest remains true to its commitment to continuous development – and it comes with exciting new features. For the first time, the CloudFest Lab creates an approximately 800 square metre space that serves as a stage, café, and exhibition area all in one. Here, new ideas are meant to grow, collaborations to form, and creativity to become tangible – the central hub for交流 and inspiration. Also new is the Street Food Festival, which brings culinary diversity directly onto the event grounds with numerous food trucks. Additionally, the layout of Europa-Park has been expanded: alongside new locations – such as the “Spanish Server Throwing Arena” – an updated hall plan provides better orientation and more space for encounters. With the new concept of six Topic Tracks instead of daily sub-themes, CloudFest 2026 deepens its thematic structure and creates greater focus on sustainable solutions along the entire technology chain. The programme is complemented by the newly introduced Beer Garden at the Dome and a professionally equipped Podcast Studio, where live productions are created on site. Of course, well-established formats such as the Hackathon, the Loud in the Cloud Party, the ConneXion Night, and the legendary BierFest Finale remain core parts of the programme – CloudFest 2026 combines innovation and tradition like few other industry events.
